Red Red Raven

For those of you that don't know, this is my character Raven the Harpy. Always felt she was one of my more original ideas for a Sonic-esque character. >8D And therefor became my guinea pig for this style.

This started out as a doodle... then turned experimental.

Every now n then I wonder what my characters would look like if they had a lil' extra love. So I hooked up Raven here with a more believable body (with the exception of her head). And because she's a feathered flying creature, I decided to give feather details a try again~

While doin' this, I took the opportunity to add a few detail to her design. This being the yellow coloration that goes from her wrist and goes into the rest of her wing to the single yellow feather. This would be her version of a birthmark so-to-speak. It never fails for when those certain feathers grow back to not take the regular color of her wings.

And then I got thinkin' s'more and took a shot at the "what if she had a human-like face?" ...thing. Originally I was gonna go for an anime style, but then I went for the more realistic look because I felt it worked better.

Process wise, I liked it. I actually wanted to keep working on it until it was finished instead of getting bored of it half-way in.
