In the series this is the 4th dragon, but the 3rd dragon to be posted here.
Original completion date: September 2006 Pen and Prismacolor markers
Jinza the Plant Dragon. Perhaps my most detailed completed dragon of my elemental series. The vegetation about her body allows her to be feed through photosynthesis during the spring, summer and early fall. Be that as it may, she still feeds on other vegetation and the occasional prey. The larger palm leaves and the rest of the leaves that structure wings, allow her to glide at times. The tip of her tail is full of poisonous thorns of which the poison's injection can be controlled.
In the mid-late fall and through winter, her leaves fall in a sort of moulting process to reveal hardened scales similar to the hardness of bamboo. And as the spring returns, from the nutrients in her scales, her plumage blossoms, she doesn't return to her green color until a majority of her leaves have regrown themselves.
Beautiful color and amazing detail. Love the vegeatation on her. All those wonderful greens and yellows and that splash of earthy red adds just the right touch.
Very nice.
wow shes a very intersting adn of course pretty beautiful creature. i really really love the way you drew her. amazing job on her body. her design is unique. hehe. i like those 'plant' wings. they are pretty detailed and well done. her body and her tail are fantastic too. hehe and her head is very cute and pretty nice. the coloring job and the shading are fabulous. i really love the way it turned out. awesome pic sweet. ^^
More originality from the Blazemister!! The detail on this alone blows me away but the fact you drew a grass dragon does even more, I've never seen one before *hey that rhymed starts a career as a rapper and fails lol* The coloring is amazing too, you should do some more marker work your skills with them are great. Keep it up yo
i haven't done one in a while actually. That was the latest one to get done in markers. I still have one before that I can post, it's just designing the right bg
