Something I said I'd post a little while ago after I posted V3 earlier this year.

I was able to fish through my things to get the original files for the other two (because I hang on to them like a nut).

I knew how different they were between the images separately, but it feels different to actually compare them side by side themselves. So... my thoughts?

2007 - That one's probably the one that most people are familiar with, and at one point was stolen and used in a contest for the Facebook app "The Facemons". The developer was contacted, and by that time, while they weren't using my art any more after someone else had reported it, they were still using the design. Eventually I tried to redesign it away from the game which brought the 2011 version.

2011 - Roughly 4 years later (if you're going by the exact post date)- came v2. The most drastic change mainly because drawing styles. Honestly, I didn't care too much for this one, but the main goal was having it not look like the first one, which I feel was achieved. This was back in the previous descriptions where it was unknown if the Metaleon species was able to process like a computer. (Because in the descriptions for 2007 and 2011, its markings either pulsated with light or refracted light in an iridescent manner, which is the case with the 2012 design.) So the tail was designed in mind as if it could slide it into ports or places with pins.

2012 - And since I wasn't so fond of the 2011 design, thus came one more redesign. So far I like it the best because I feel it combines the nature of the first two designs, as well as keeping it "balanced" (because really, using the existing Eevee designs, they're not that complex, so I went off the notion that things could be simplified just enough). Not to mention it's the closest I've gotten to make it seem like a convincing Eevee-lution style...yet. (I think this is as far as I would go though, but we'll see.) I like the tail shape best here, but I like the black that was on v2's tail. I couldn't come to a compromise I liked, so I left it plain gray.
